How we research and review our guides

Last reviewed: 20 July 2026

Every factual claim about a scheme is cited to GOV.UK or the published scheme rules. We keep the figures in one place, review them regularly, and correct mistakes promptly. This page explains how, and how to flag something that looks wrong.

Where our figures come from

Scheme figures, caps, dates and eligibility rules come from GOV.UK and the DESNZ scheme documents. Market figures such as energy prices and install costs come from Ofgem and current market guides. Each guide lists its sources at the foot of the page, and every figure our tools use is held in a single data file so a number cannot say one thing on one page and something different on another.

How often we review

Each page carries a last-reviewed date. We review figures regularly and re-check anything time-sensitive, such as scheme launch dates and price caps, as those dates approach. Where a figure is expected rather than confirmed, we say so on the page rather than presenting it as settled.
