How much does a heat pump cost?

Installed cost depends mostly on the size of your home and how much heat it needs. A flat might need a 5kW unit, a detached house around 14kW. Radiators and pipework can add £1,500 to £4,000, and the loan can cover them.

Figures are installed costs before any grant. Ground source heat pumps cost more, roughly £18,000 to £35,000.
After the grant
Take the £7,500 Boiler Upgrade Scheme grant off first, then borrow the balance on the Warm Homes Loan, up to the £20,000 cap. Our calculator turns that into a monthly figure.
